St. Cloud Dental X-Rays

Why do I need X-Rays

Generally, dental x-rays are used in consultation before treatment, and can detect major oral health issues including cavities, tooth decay, gum disease, and overall bone deterioration in the mouth.

If you are a new patient, it is likely that your St. Cloud dentist will require x-rays at your first appointment in order to determine if you have any major dental concerns, the overall health of your mouth and jaw, as well as to develop a comprehensive treatment plan.

After your initial x-rays, you may not need anymore, or your dentist may recommend routine x-rays to track dental progress, including cavities, gum health, bone health, and more.

Digital Vs Traditional X-Rays

When considering Dental X-Rays in Central Minnesota most people do not know the difference between traditional x-rays and digital oral x-rays. Traditional x-rays contain higher levels of radiation, take longer to process images, and can cause some general blurring, which could possibly lead to misdiagnosis.

However, our practice is dedicated to innovative technologies, which include digital and panoramic x-rays. These x-rays contain up to 90% less radiation than traditional x-rays, meaning that they are overall a safer option. Additionally, these x-rays process images quickly, as well as providing clearer images in order to get a precise diagnosis.
